I've been to several West African countries and I've seen the poor conditions that the people there live in with my own eyes. When our research vessel pulled into various ports, we'd hand out clean bottles of water to the people who we met. I got to see first-hand the impact that 8 ounces of clean drinking water can have on a single person. Imagine what building a well to provide clean drinking water could do for an entire community.

Now you don't have to imagine building a well because I just started a campaign to raise $1,000 for charity:water in the next 90 days. If we can raise $1,000, we can make it real...today!

Consider everything you have in this world and everything you'll give and get this holiday season. Then consider that if you and the 64,000+ people who follow me on Twitter each gave just 2 cents to charity: water, we can raise over $1,000 and build a well to provide the gift of clean water for an entire community.

If you're interested in the personal experiences I had in west Africa that inspired me to help out charity:water, you can read about them here on my personal blog: http://edgehopper.com/charity-water/

Learn About the Water Crisis

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
