YOU DID IT!
Thousands of you joined the September Campaign to fund a drilling rig fleet in Ethiopia. On February 27, 2012, Yellow Thunder broke ground drilling its first well. Watch the video to see what happened.
Happy September Everyone!
This year…I’m turning the big 3-0. It’s a huge birthday - that I’ve been dragging my feet towards. I’ve spent the better part of this year, trying to figure out what huge activities I could do to do this birthday justice, and then I decided to donate my birthday. There’s a charity that is near and dear to my heart called Charity: Water. Their mission is very simple: To bring clean water to everyone who needs it. Water is such a normal thing for us, that I know I take how easily it’s accessible to me for granted on a regular basis.
My goal is to raise $5,000. I know that’s a lot - but go big or go home, right? $5,000 is what it costs to fund a whole water project. Since I fall under the September Campaign, this year all that money is going to fund a rig to drill water faster. And every ounce of money will go to that. No one makes a profit from this - but villages can be helped and saved with the simple gift of water.
So, for my birthday, I’m asking everyone and anyone to help me reach this goal. $30 for my 30th. And I don’t expect just you guys to help get this goal achieved…I’m donating money too.
But wait! There’s more! The first 10 people who donate will get a photography book! Yes, I’m giving things away! And everyone will get a personalized thank you note. This means a great deal to me…and I want to make sure I show my appreciation for your help. I hope you guys can help me reach this goal! It’s all I want for my birthday!
Join me -- each drilling rig can help bring clean water to 80 new villages each year, and help 40,000 people get clean water.
This campaign helped fund a rig in Ethiopia that can drill 80 wells a year.
