charity:water is a very cool organization that has an amazing purpose and I'm proud to have met its founder, Scott Harrison, in the past year. As I turn the big 4-0 on June 21, 2011, I wanted to dream big and make an impact. I have a wonderful husband, Mike, five amazing, healthy kids, the best parents and family and a terrific group of colleagues -- I really can't want or ask for anything more. So, I am forgoing birthday gifts and instead encouraging my loved ones and friends to help me mark this occasion with something that will help a lot of people. If every person I knew gave at least $40 in honor of my 40th, we could provide several wells to villages in Africa to reach a lot of people (including countless children) who are dying right now -- just because they don't have access to clean water. Thanks for being my friends and supporters. I'm a lucky girl and appreciate you all so much!

Learn About the Water Crisis

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
