This Spring, I traveled to remote Ethiopia with charity:water to experience firsthand the need for clean drinking water and see for myself the impact new wells can have.
Within just a few days, I saw entire villages given hope. Residents stopped getting sick from drinking dirty water and women and children immediately attended school as they no longer had to walk hours and hours for water. I have never witnessed such dramatic improvements in the lives of fellow humans.
I photographed the smiles from the villages we visited: http://bit.ly/ethiopianfaces
Starting September 13th, I am joining a small group of folks on a bicycle ride across the USA. This has been a goal of mine since I was a kid. So, when the opportunity recently presented itself, I knew I couldn't hesitate.
The trip kicks off in Santa Barbara, CA and we arrive 40 days later in Charleston, SC. On each of the 35 days during which we will be pedaling, we aim to cover an average of 95 miles. As demanding as those sessions will be, they don't begin to compare to the daily struggles of the billion people on this planet who still do not have access to clean water.
I know while I am out there doing the pedaling, I will be thinking of my friends back in Ethiopia, and around the world, and how much they need our help. I hope you will join me in celebrating how lucky each of us is to have clean water and revel in how easy it is to help others get it.
$5,000 builds a well for an entire village. I want all of us to permanently change the lives of two entire villages. So, let's build two wells!
I am so excited about the impact we will have together. Give now, watch the video to the right, tell your friends to give, and then keep checking back here to see how we are doing.
Thanks!

LEARN ABOUT THE WATER CRISIS
Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
