This campaign raised $575.
That money is hard at work in the field.

100% of the money raised by this campaign is being used to bring clean water to those in need. In 18 months we’ll be able to show you exactly where the money went and who it helped.

Imagine if you had no clean water. Imagine sweating and straining to haul contaminated water back to your family. Imagine suffering from preventable things like diarrhea, parasites or leeches. Unbelievably, 80% of all diseases in the world are caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Here in the US, we use about 400 billions gallons of water each day, which means the average family of four is responsible for about 400 gallons PER DAY.

Gives a simple glass of water an entirely new meaning, doesn't it?

I learned about charity: water a few years ago and have been wanting to contribute in some way bigger than just the minimum. And then it came to me.

I've always had a sort of addiction to clothes. Shoe shopping cheers me up when I'm down and I almost always buy one, if not two pairs! When I find a pair of jeans I really like, I'll buy the same pair in two different washes. But as I was putting laundry away the other night, I was staring at my closet thinking what a luxury it is to have all of these great clothes (or "digs", as the name of my campaign implies). I don't NEED all of these clothes. I buy shoes when I'm sad, for crying out loud. Meanwhile, there are entire families crying because a child is sick and may even die from not having clean water.

I've started this campaign to do my part and help make this place we call home a better place for those who can't help themselves. In the next three months, I'm going to raise $500 to build clean water wells for 25 people (or 5 families of 5).

I will be doing this by selling off clothes, shoes, accessories, etc. I've never worn and/or owned for years. And I will demand that, even if you don't purchase any of the items that are for sale, you do your good deed for the year by supporting my cause!!

For just $20, you can give one person clean, safe drinking water for 10 years - A DECADE!

Plus, the cool thing about charity: water is that 100% of the money I raise goes directly to the water projects. Even better, when projects are complete, we'll get to see where the wells are on Google Earth.
