Half of the world’s schools don’t have clean water sources. Millions of kids around the world miss school to gather water for their families or to stay home sick with a water-related illness. Clean water projects and toilets built on school grounds can change all of this. Kids return to class once they have safe water nearby. They’re less likely to get sick; student performance often improves. They don’t have to miss class to go collect water and with an education and better health, kids are more likely to break the cycle of poverty and become leaders in their communities.
