For every $6,000 raised, a new water project will be built in Raj’s memory

Remembering Rajesh J. Shahani

Raj touched the lives of many with his warm smile, boundless energy and unconditional generosity. He considered himself blessed with much abundance and good fortune and wanted to give back to society in some way.

Through charity: water, Raj learned that almost one billion people do not have access to clean and safe drinking water. This moved him… and he then set a goal to raise money for 100 water projects in India.

In March 2010, Raj personally funded his first water project which was completed in March 2011 in Orissa, India. With his life cut short, Raj’s family wishes to continue his efforts of providing clean water for those in need.

We ask for your help. Please donate any amount you wish to support this cause. For every $6,000 collectively raised, a new water project will be built in Raj’s memory.

In Raj’s last email to Scott Harrison, founder of charity: water, Raj concluded his message with:

“P.S. Thanks for giving me a chance to make a difference.”

We too can make a difference and together we can keep Raj’s spirit alive.

With love and regards,
Raj’s Family

Why water?

663 million people lack access to clean water. That’s 1 in 10 of us. We’re on a mission to change that.
