Jesse Reichenstein's Birthday Campaign

Read Mission Statement

when we realize we're lucky, we need to remember we are only lucky because there are people who are not.

With the holidays, New Year's, and now my birthday coming up, I've been thinking a lot about how lucky I am and how lucky I have been growing up. I was really inspired by watching Scott Harrison's (Founder of charity:water) interview on Kevin Rose's show Foundation (if you have the time it is an awesome interview, Scott has an amazing story and has built something really incredible with charity:water http://foundation.bz/17/) So I decided to start the year pledging my birthday to help those who don't even have access to clean water, and I wouldn't trust any charity more than charity:water to help. They're a truly transparent charity and all of the money you give will go to people in need and not operating costs.

So with a New Year starting, my new year's resolution is to focus on giving back and helping others altruistically. I'm asking family and friends to take that money they would have spent on a present and instead donate it here. $20 can give one person access to clean water, so I'm asking everyone I know to donate $20 for my 20th birthday to try to get 20 people clean water, but any amount truly will help and can make a difference.

I really appreciate any donations and even taking the time to visit my campaign page and read this. If you don't have the money to donate, sharing the campaign can make a difference too!
