Good news! We have an update on the progress in Uganda with our LOVE CELEBRATION campaign that you so generously contributed to last December.

The projects you are helping fund are located in the districts of Bugiri and Namayingo in Eastern Uganda. About 723,000 people live there and only 42% of the population has access to clean drinking water.

Our local partner, GOAL, has already completed geological and community surveying. In addition, contractors have already drilled 36 water points throughout the two districts. Over the next few months, GOAL will work with communities and contractors to complete an additional 28 water points. They will train Water Committees on water point maintenance, financial management and fee collection. At schools, health clubs will be formed that promote hand washing and safe water practices using educational games and role-playing.

As soon as projects are complete, we'll collect GPS coordinates, photos, and other details about each community to show you the impact you’ve made in Uganda.
