i don't think much about my birthday until it's practically upon me. Now, I love having my friends and family around to celebrate, but it has never been terribly important.
so, what is different this year?
Many of you who know me also know that I'm a Jesus follower and Andy Stanley is my favorite person to listen to to keep me engaged and motivated to be salt and light.
I just listened to part 2 of "Voices" on www.Northpoint.org and was taken aback by the realization of how VERY MANY people in the world have NO access to clean water.
Because I am coming up on my birthday week, the "Birthday Pledge" just connected for me.
i would love to be able to donate enough money so that 59 people (how many years old i am this year) could have clean water in their lives. This is my favorite (taken for granted) luxury-- water coming from a faucet into my home so I can bathe, drink, be clean and wash!

THEREFORE...... if you are a friend of mine, it would thrill my heart if you would remember my birthday by donating an amount to this charity. If you would meet me for coffee or dinner or a movie just pledge that amount and I will match it. I'd spend the same amount if we got together so it just makes sense!
