This campaign brought clean water to Bugaya, Uganda.

Each year our family makes a Christmas Card video to share with our friends and family. We have a lot of fun doing this. We also have been able to raise awareness and a little money for Charity:Water.

This year, we decided as a family to do something a little different to help someone in need at Christmas as well as raise as much as we can for Charity:Water.

There really is nothing like being home for the holidays — unfortunately, there are many in our communities around the country who don’t have a place to call home. We thought we’d build one for someone.

So we built this tiny home —for the holidays— and we’d like to give it away to an individual or family so they can have a home for the holidays too.

This house has a full functioning kitchen, bathroom, sleeping loft, and a surprisingly comfortable, cozy, living space for a few people.  And it’s built on a trailer with RV hookups so you can take it and park it wherever you want.

We’re asking you, our awesome friends, to nominate someone you know, who could really use this home for the holidays, someone we could give this to — from our family to theirs.

How this works:

1. Donate $20 or more to Charity:Water (this is your entry) — 100% of your donation goes to clean water initiatives.

2. Submit a short essay (no more than 500 words) on who you think should receive this house and why. Email it to: tinyhomefortheholidays@gmail.com Be sure to use the same name on your essay as you used for the Charity:Water donation so we know you donated. All entries must be submitted by December 18th, 2015 so our Judges can choose who will receive the tiny home. Also, If you don’t know someone who needs this home for the Holidays and won’t be nominating someone, please help our Family out by donating to Charity:Water anyway. We would really appreciate it!

3. Just before Christmas 2015 we’ll announce the recipient of the tiny home.

Please help us find a home, for this home, for the holidays as well as provide clean water for our brothers and sisters around the world who are in need.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Charity:water I saw a documentary about a water purification machine that was having trouble getting backing to distribute it to foreign countrys. I wish I could give more but it's hard to support 5 on social security. I believe my beautiful daughter would benefit greatly from the tiny home you are offering. She had to leave her husband who had better things to do than thane care of his family. She has a 15 month old daughter and a 7 year old very smart daughter in a gifted an talented program at school. She will have a hard time getting a job and paying for child care, I suppose my husband will be in the ones caring for them on the farm we live on. She would have a place to put the house and grow veggies. We have a university near by.

This family in the video is a beautiful family with love in there hearts. The person I am nominating is my xwife and the mother of my two sons. She is a divorcee of her second marriage. She moved back to her native state of Arizona from Virginia. She moved to Heber/ Overgard, Northern Arizona in a rental cabin which she cannot afford with her social security alone. I do not have the finances to help with her living expenses. Vicki, is generous person that could greatfully appreciate this home that would definitely give Her a leg up. She is 63 yrs old and has 2 dachhounds, her loving companions. Thank you for your work and for considering my nomination. You are blessed

this is the second donation I have made today, this one associated with the second nomination, made by me on behalf of the nominee's grandchildren, who really hope this dream comes true for their gramma so she can live closer to them.
