Climate Cowboy Riding for Hope

Read Mission Statement

An environmental friendly ride through Sweden. Our aim is to help as many people as the distance that I am riding. 1600 people or more.

To raise money and awareness of getting clean water to millions of people who have never seen or had clean water.
I will ride my horse from the arctic circle in the northern of Sweden and down to my ranch in Skåne in the south of Sweden.

Translated in numbers it will be approx. 1600+km in 30 days from mid-June till mid-July.
This will add up to a total of 20 days with 13-14 hours in the saddle at a high walking speed and 20 half-marathons within the 30 days. (Including, luckily for me – 10 resting days)

“I have never been running longer than 10k for my whole life.”

Me and the horses will be completely plant powered/vegan, and also powered by Forever Living Products – Aloe Vera and supplements, through the journey to promote great health and also further promote stopping the mass production of meat and dairy, that are causing Global Warming and killing the Oceans and nations water supplies.

I will have two electric crew cars carrying all equipment, crew, photographer and transporting the horses during the run.

I will be hosting 2-3 charity/fundraising clinics during the trip which will be educational clinics, with me taking on one or two problem horses and helping them get better through horse psychology and natural communication. I will even offer a $1000 dollar to the person who can bring me a horse that I can’t handle. (This is to raise more knowledge and money to the specific cause. People will pay an entrance fee.)

During the journey I will meet and ride with several interesting people/celebrities to raise more awareness and have some interesting discussions about the environment and what could be done by people to help improve it. (This is to create more spread and social media participating to the project and cause)

It will also (for me more important) be a social event with my current community of horse owners throughout the whole of Sweden joining up and riding with me to support the cause. Even runners are welcome to join and run with me.

I will be camping along the way in nature or on local farms, who are willing to provide with a pasture for the horses and me. (People are also very welcome to join me in camping)

Maybe a little background about me.
I am Danish but live in Sweden. 33 years old. Self-employed with 3 different companies. I am mostly known as Sweden´s foremost Horse Psychologist, “The Guy with the Hat” or The Swedish Horse Whisperer and now The Climate Cowboy. I have an active community of about 7000-8000 students throughout Sweden and Scandinavia. I have educated over 30000 students through the past 10 years in different venues and ways.

My great passions are of course everything horse, but also environment, nature in general and everyone within it.

I grew up in the farm country in Denmark, near the ocean and I have a professional background in Michelin restaurants in Copenhagen.

I also played elite level handball until I turned 18. Got injured and my career ended from one day to the next That got me started on a path of downward living.
Ended up in old very bad habits. Got very overweight and stuck in jobs that were killing me.

At last I was laid off from my job, laid off from my then girlfriend and therefore also laid off from the apartment I was living in. So, I was homeless for a period living and sleeping in my car and at friend’s places. I was working my butt off at some of the finest restaurants in Copenhagen but got totally burned out.

At that low point I got very motivated and from there I found my purpose in life which is to create world of happier relationships between horses and humans, as well as being of service towards this planet and the communities within it.

So, from there I started my own business helping horses and horse people by teaching and training them. Found my wife (which is another very interesting story) and together we built our companies to the point that after only 4 years we were actually millionaires and financially free. And we live happily ever after. 😊

The story behind this adventure and the reason I will do this endurance ride through Sweden, comes from several years of looking for something I didn´t know what was. I have for a long time been searching for the thing that could take me further and make a larger impact in the world than what I was currently doing.

Then three things happened.

I met my long-time idol and role model Dr. Sylvia Earle in Gothenburg at The Perfect World Foundation´s Ocean Ball. A charity event we donated some money to, for saving the oceans and the animals within it. That was a highlight and started a spark within me to also make a become a difference in the world of the environment and the people within it.

Then some time later I listened to The Rich Roll Podcast with James Lawrence aka. The Iron Cowboy, who had just done 50 Ironmans in 50 States in 50 Days. All for raising funds to the cause of Childhood Obesity.

That set the spark on fire and started creating ideas in my head. I wanted to do something similar, so I thought that the things I know that I can do is to work hard and dedicated and ride horses. Those two attributes in combination became this challenge, but what really got me on fire and totally committed was listening to another Rich Roll Podcast with Scott Harrison and Charity Water. I was on the treadmill training and Scott shared a story about a little girl who gave up her birthday, ended up dying but through her story raised millions. Because of that story of people doing unselfish stuff actually made burst out crying while running on the treadmill and having many people look at me funny.
That was where I decided to get involved with Charity Water.
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

Our aim is to help as many people as the distance that I am riding. 1600 people or more.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
