This campaign brought clean water to Heali, Ethiopia and 7 other projects.

In celebration of 51 years on planet Earth, I don't want presents. I need for nothing. Instead, I'm asking that you step up and help make a difference by helping provide access for those in need to something we take for granted every day - clean water.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean. The idea that we couldn't access to as much clean water as we want is anathema to our daily experience.

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. In fact, 663 million people live without clean water – that’s nearly 1 out of every 10 people worldwide. Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

To get to the point, I'm asking for $51 from each of you -- 100% of which will be used to build clean water projects. When they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can experience up close the exact community we helped - and that is priceless.

Together we are powerful, Together we can change the world. Let's focus that energy in a good direction

Your generosity isn't just appreciated, it's needed -- now more than ever.

Peace + Plants + (Clean) Water,
Rich

PS - if you can't afford $51, I get it - donate whatever you can. Every penny helps. For those more fortunate, of course more is even better.
