In February 2012, I joined Scott and Viktoria along with an amazing group of people to Northern Ethiopia where I was able to see first hand not only what people were struggling with on a day to day basis but I also saw what Charity: Water has accomplished with the help of all of us. I could write pages and pages of what I saw but I want to make this simple. Children greeted us in village after remote village with signs saying "WATER IS LIFE". They did not want a bike, a new video game system, an iPhone - -they simply wanted and NEEDED water. Charity: Water makes that dream a reality.

I am turning 38. It has been 16 years since I lost my Mom and Dad and not a day goes by where I don't think of them. Most especially my birthdays. But while I was in Ethiopia they were with me - -my Mom devoted her life to service so I felt her so much with me as we held hands with the children who clung to us as we walked though their villages. So in honor of my 38th birthday I have a VERY lofty goal but one that is in honor of my parents: $38, 000. That builds 7 or so wells for which will be in honor of my Mom and Dad who left me early but left me with the foundation I have today to see this through.
