Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink.

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

So for the end of the year, I'm hoping for a huge goal: I'm hoping to inspire 2,000 people to donate just $20 to the cause. $20 is just 5 Starbucks Lattes, or a drink at a bar, or a meal out with friends. So here's what I'm asking: Join me and donate a little bit, and together, we can help kids who still die from water-related illnesses. By donating any little bit you can, this will be our campaign, and our dream, to help others.

Put another way, I'll need 400 people to donate $100.

I don't know if I can do this - it's a crazy goal. So here's the deal: if 200 people donate $20, I'll contribute my own $1,000 to the cause.

And if there are 2,000 people who donate $20 (or we get to $40,000 some other way - OMG!), I'm willing to do a few crazy things:

I'll quit my day job by December and vow to never work in Finance again.

I'll plan a trip to visit the villages we helped in 2014 with my mom (my dad is not a fan of "exotic" travel).

I'll finish the book I've been talking about for years by July 2014.

If you want to donate more than $20, I'm totally game if you are.
