On September 30, I'm turning 26. And this year, I'm sharing my birthday with charity: water again to help bring clean drinking water to people in need.

A billion people in the world are living without clean water. Millions contract deadly diseases (E. Coli, Cholera, Botulism, Typhoid fever, Parasitic Infections) from contaminated water. 45,000 people will die this week alone. The lucky ones won't, but still walk hours each day to get dirty water to give to their families.

In 2009 through my 24th birthday fundraiser, we raised a grand total of $1553 which has since allowed 300 people in Ethiopia to gain access to safe and clean drinking water. The proof is here:

I am so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends who joined my campaign to make it happen. So this year I am giving up my birthday again and instead of gifts, I am asking for $26 or more (or less cause every bit counts!) from everyone I know (or don't know! Help me spread the word!!)
100% of the money will fund the equipment to drill wells for people in northern Ethiopia.

My birthday wish this year is not for more gifts I don't need; it's to give clean and safe drinking water to some of the billion living without it. I want to make my birthday matter this year.

We wouldn't drink dirty water, so why should they?
