Why Kenny Grant is fundraising for clean water

On Sunday, October 13th, I'm running the Victoria Marathon to raise money for 'Charity Water' and need your help! I'm trying to raise $2,750 to provide clean water for people in Ethiopia.

It's pretty impossible to imagine (especially living in rainy Vancouver), but Imagine you had no clean water. Imagine walking hours every single day in the scorching sun to the nearest river to collect unsafe nasty water for your family.

While this might seem unimaginable, it's a reality for 800 million people in developing countries. After learning more about Charity Water's work at a marketing retreat a few weeks ago, I wanted to get involved and try to make a difference in the global water crisis.

The Victoria Marathon is 42.2 kms long.

My goal is to raise $2750. This would provide clean drinking water for 42 people. Basically, one person drinks clean water for every km I complete.

I'm looking for peeps to sponsor each km of the race. That works out to $65.00 each km. To keep things fun, here's some small perks for donating clean water:

100% of the money raised will go directly to water project costs, funding long-lasting clean water solutions for people in need. When the projects are finished, 'Charity Water' will show us the exact communities we've helped using photos and GPS coordinates.

So, I’m keeping myself busy training for the half marathon these days. Would you join me in running this race?

---UPDATE Sept 23rd ---
The last 6 weeks I've had knee problems (IT Bands) while training and after visiting a doctor I have no other choice but to downgrade from the full marathon to the half marathon. This was a difficult decision and i'm truly sorry for letting you guys down. Thanks again for your understanding, support and generous donations.
