America spends about $500 billion a year on Christmas gifts, or over $600 a person. Add another $8 billion on Christmas decorations.
Meanwhile 800 million people worldwide don't even have access to clean drinking water.
It's nuts.
These 800 million people have to walk miles each day to get to the nearest source of water - a parasite-infested stream or pond. Worse, they can't even shower. These people get sick and die each day because they simply don't have access to clean water.
We can do something about it. If we raise $10,000 this holiday season 500 people will get clean water. 100% of every dollar we raise will go directly to this water project. Once the project is complete, charity: water will show us GPS coordinates, photos and other details about the communities we've helped. This means we'll be able to see the impact we've made.
