You wanna talk about crazy?
663 million people on this planet don’t have access to clean water. That’s 1 in 11 of us!
That means 1 out of 11 people in our world is drinking water that comes from a river, lake or muddy hole in the ground every day. Women and children are responsible for fetching water, and often walk hours a day over hard terrains to get water for their families. Children often miss miss because of this chore.
What’s NOT crazy is doing something to help. I joined charity: water’s September Campaign this year because I believe that every person on the planet deserves clean water, and I’m looking for anyone who can help me.
The Chaco challenge:
My goal is to raise enough for 32 people to have an ongoing supply of clean water. Until I meet my goal I will wear my Chaco sandals outdoors every day, through cold, rain, snow, and more. I know this will be uncomfortable, but it is more uncomfortable to walk for hours hauling heavy jugs of water.
Join me in solving this problem!
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects for people in need, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
You can give a little or you can give a lot. The craziest thing we can do is nothing.
