Every day, 5,000 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. Let's change that!
This May I am going to be racing across Kansas, covering 200+ miles of gravel roads, variable weather, and who knows what else while on a bike. During the Dirty Kanza race, I'll drink over 350 ounces of clean water over 15+ hours (and likely more than that if it's hot out). And over the next few months, I'll be out there training so I can do this. This is what I do for fun. But ...
Imagine doing your day to day with dirty, potentially diseased water. Drinking water, cooking water, cleaning water. Imagine what it's like if you had to hike to get water. Not every once and a while. Every day.
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink. Many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Water-related illnesses plague much of the world. The world is becoming more water stressed every year. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
So, in the spirit of challenge, in the spirit of helping others, please donate to my campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects. When they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
