Last year, Sheel and I started a Charity: Water campaign in support of India and were absolutely blown away by the generosity of our friends and family! We raised over $5,500 - enough to provide water for 55 families! I was not planning to do a campaign this year because well let's face it - people don't like to be asked to support a cause twice. But I realized, I need to have more faith than that (especially with people dumping ice water on themselves all over the world)!

This year's September campaign is for a place where the average summer temperature is 110 degrees, the average income is $1/day and drought has completely ruined any chance at even subsistence farming. Niger and Mali, in the Sahel region of Africa, are not close to home for most but it's also a largely neglected part of the world. Like many similar areas, it doesn't have to be this way.

We can bring solar powered pumps into communities and pipe water to tap stands right next to these family's homes. We can bring time, energy and a better future to 100,000 people in Mali and Niger.

100% of everything we raise will directly fund water projects. And when those projects are finished, charity: water will send us proof in pictures and GPS coordinates, so we can see the actual people and communities we impacted.
