Mission Statement

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

Please donate to my campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

I’m hoping for my 36th birthday to raise enough money to provide clean drinking water for 36 people. Things feel really scary right now, as we’re all grappling with this pandemic; I am, for maybe the first time, feeling the anxiety of securing access to some of my basic needs - supplies, food... but I know I’ll have access to clean water and basic sanitation. 1 in 10 people in the world don’t have that security. Access to clean water and basic sanitation can save around 16,000 lives every week. That number (representing the lives of children, mothers, parents, grandparents) is sobering and, frankly, unacceptable. Not to detract from, or make light of the pandemic in any way, but what would be done if we were losing 16000 lives, every week, to (any) virus, and a treatment was readily available? In these troubling times, I’m hoping for some help in putting good out into the world. I’m incredibly fortunate that I’m in a position to make a contribution - I know many aren’t right now, but I also know I’m not the only one. Thank you to anyone reading this, and for any help you’re able to offer.

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
