Charity: Water is an organization that raises money and sends volunteers to build wells in third world countries. These wells give hundreds of people easy access to clean water instead of having to walk miles to get this basic need. Phoebe has had prior experiences working with Charity: Water for her Bat Mitzvah project and was able to financially support the successful building of a well in Ethiopia. Elise had the opportunity to travel to Ethiopia one summer for a church mission trip where she witnessed first-hand the struggle many go through each day to get clean water. We all recognized the great need for access to clean water as a struggle millions of people go through everyday; one that we have never had to go through.

The four of us are proud to be working towards raising money for a great cause while also being able to do something we love: baking macarons. With the help of cookie-lovers like you, we will be able to make A Pinch of Kindness into a successful business that brings a little sweetness into the lives of our customers and others less fortunate.

As children in America, we take for granted the availability of fresh water in our everyday lives. We have gotten used to being able to walk to the fridge or just turn on the sink for automatic access to clear, purified, cold water. Sometimes we forget that not everyone around the world has this privilege. 783 million people around the world do not have access to clean drinking water. These people are forced to walk miles from their homes and carry back water that may be polluted and unsafe to drink.

Charity: Water is a non-profit organization that gives 100% of donated money to send volunteers to developing countries to build wells. These wells give people access to clean water. Millions of people of all ages no longer have to worry about where their next sip of water will come from. The extraordinary gift of clean water is one everyone in the world has a right to, and with the help of many people joining together this can become a reality.
