Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink- even the water in our toilets is clean (my cat actually thinks it's exceptional)!

However, many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. In Africa alone, women spend about 40 *billion* hours a year walking JUST to get this water. BUT- there are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects. I found out about charity: water just over a year ago and have already learned so much. It really is amazing to see exactly what projects they are working on and the people they are engaging with as they work towards their mission of clean water. I receive emails, updates, videos, and more. It all helps me understand exactly what this process is- a process that LASTS, and that is long term for these communities.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

This campaign will run for 60 days, since each campaign ends in time for a certain project to utilize those donations. My half marathon is July 22nd, so I'm hoping to start a new campaign in that bit of time after the 60-day period of this one.
