I was initially inspired to "donate my birthday" to raise support for clean water when I heard the founder of charity: water speaking about suffering on my favorite podcast - The Liturgists. You can listen to the episode here:
http://www.theliturgists.com/podcast/2016/11/1/suffering-part-1
Give it a listen, I promise you it is worth it.
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean! Many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. It does not (and should not) have to be this way.
Please donate to my campaign in lieu of birthday gifts and wishes -- anything you can give is a huge help. My suggested donation is either $24 (for every year of my life I have taken clean water for granted) or $30 (provides clean water for one person for life!), but ANY amount you can give would be appreciated.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you consider giving to charity: water!
Much Love,
Amanda
