Help us build a well!

Do you drink water every day? This is all with clean water, right? People in developing countries, such as Honduras and Ethiopia, do not have access to clean water.

Many people in third world nations are less fortunate than us. The water crisis is one of the biggest problems that these nations are facing. Water is very difficult to obtain so people, especially women, in these countries spend most of their time collecting water than anything else they do during the day.

Obtaining this resource affects all daily activities. Individuals living in these areas have to walk three hours each day to obtain water that in most cases is contaminated. They know the water is dirty; however, they have no choice but to use it to cook, shower, and drink. This makes the water crisis also become a major health issue.

Through this organization, Charity Water, we will be able to raise awareness and funds for this crisis. Everyone can donate through this website or by sending it to Santa Maria School. In our school we are doing an exciting activity. We would like to raise $1,000 through a program called “Penny Counts More”. At Santa Maria School, each class will have their own bucket to fill with pennies. Classes will compete against each other and put silver coins and paper money into the competitors buckets. The number of silver coins and paper money added up will be subtracted from the penny count. All the money will go toward our campaign to help the water crisis.

Through your generous donations we will be able to help build a well and provide clean water to people living in one of these needy nations. Building a well for clean water will not only provide these people with clean water, but will also provide them with a healthier way of living. We appreciate everyone who decides to help these nations. Let’s all help those who are not able to have a clean glass water.
