Many of us have no idea what it's like to be truly thirsty, as we have widespread access to clean drinking water in Canada. However, many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Worldwide, 1 out of 10 people drink dirty water every day, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like hand-dug wells, rainwater catchments, and water purification systems that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
We are four students studying commerce at Queen's University and our goal is to make a difference by raising awareness and funds to support Charity: Water. Our fundraising effort will help to address this global crisis and fund various clean water initiatives around the world.
Charity: Water has completed over 29,000 projects, providing access to clean water to 8.5 million individuals worldwide. Their promise is to use 100% of donations to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, Charity: Water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
Our goal is to raise $300, which would ensure that 10 people will be able to have clean and safe drinking water. We would appreciate donations of any size to support our initiative and every dollar will be a step towards a world where everyone has access to safe water.
