With the help of you and countless other folks and their projects, the last charity: water project that I campaigned for collaboratively helped bring clean water to 363 individuals in Hewani Community in Kenya (GPS co-ordinates -1.29608, 39.99807). While that was all good, I think there are still countless individuals all across the globe who lack access to one of the essential needs: Clean Drinking Water. According to the UN, “783 million people do not have access to clean water”. Take a minute to reflect on that number – 783,000,000 – that’s a lot of individuals!!! A lot of folks who don’t have access to clean drinking water and I believe we can all do a little to go about changing that.

As part of my small effort, I pledge to run the Jeff Winter Memorial, City of Lakes Half Marathon on September 10, 2017, and donate $10 USD for every mile that I complete. Well!! Running 13.1 miles at one go seems a little too many miles to me, but I’m excited to take on the challenge to raise awareness for charity: water, who is on an incredible mission to get clean drinking water to everyone on the planet. While I will do my best and am hopeful to be able to complete the entire race of 13.1 miles, I would not be able to raise my goal of $1,000 USD for charity: water and this is where I am seeking your help. Pledge as little or as much as you can for each of the miles I will be running or just donate any amount for the cause. It can be as little as to maybe that extra beer you don’t end up drinking at the next party you are at or the money you saved by skipping a lunch or a couple of lunches in the next couple of months, every dollar will count!!!

All money raised by this campaign will indeed go to provide clean drinking water, donations to campaigns are NOT used for any administrative costs at charity: water. And I was asked this question a lot last time so, I will just put it out there – I am in no way affiliated with charity: water. I believe in charity: water and the operational model they work by. I believe clean drinking water is the basic necessity of all human beings so, I have pledged my campaigns with charity: water.
