my name is blake mycoskie and i am the founder and chief shoe giver of TOMS - the One for One company that helps give shoes and restore sight for those in need through purchases from our customers.

when i first met charity: water founder scott harrison a few years ago, and learned about the significant global need for clean water, i was moved, inspired, and ready to join in their mission. through shoe and eyewear partnerships between TOMS and charity: water, we've been able to support 37 projects around the world, providing over 12,000 people with access to clean water.

this year, i'm getting personal. i am using my birthday as a means to raise $20,000 for charity: water! every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries, and charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). we will even know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
