Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

My name is Brian and I am a person who tries to be religious. I attend Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic School and I go to Saint Michael’s Parish. I would consider God my Best Friend. God has done an unbelievable amount of good in my life and he has made me so blessed. With Christmas approaching I started to wonder what can I give to God for all that he’s done for me. Then I remembered this quote from scripture. “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:40.
So then I decided I would help the poor in some way. Then I thought about the water crisis and how around 800 million people didn’t even have the basic necessity of clean drinkable water. More than 3.4 million people die each year from water, sanitation, and hygiene-related causes. I knew these people bore the face of God and I decided to sacrifice my Christmas presents in order to gather donations in order to bring people clean water. I thought to myself it’s Jesus’ Birthday anyway and what better gift to give than the very basic necessity many of the poor around the world do not have. Clean drinkable water.
I needed a charity to give to and during the summer God led me to this charity called Charity Water that gives 100% of all donations to water projects in the developing world. Not only that but they show where the money went to. I’ve raised a bit of money with my friends already. Now I’ve made it my mission to raise as much money as I can for the many people who suffer just because they don’t have the very basic need of water. I can’t do it alone. I need the help of others in order to do this. Will you help me give Jesus a great Birthday Present.

Ways to raise money
-Give up christmas presents and ask for donations (This is what I'm going to try to do. Even giving up christmas presents partly and donating will help)
-hold an event
-Do some sort of challenge and ask you're friends for a donation
-sell something like baked goods
