Hey Folks!

About this time last year I did a fundraiser through the nonprofit, Charity: Water. In short, Charity: Water partners with organizations around the world to aid and empower people lacking drinking water with the tools they need to access this basic life necessity.

With the help of some family and friends, we raised $208 last year on my 23rd birthday. Those generous gifts have been put to hard work and are currently supporting clean water projects for communities in Mozambique through the Helvetas network. (https://www.helvetasusa.org/en)

As I turn another year older this week, I am reflecting on what it means to be born into and grow up in a place/position of privilege. I've never had to think twice about the quality or availability of water... Can you imagine life without it?

I wanted to share a campaign again this year not only to support those in need, but also as a practice in mindfulness: Try giving up something small today, (maybe social media, or coffee, or dessert) and in that created space take a moment to think about how the place and life you are in has given you access to so many things that are easily taken for granted.
