Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty for clean water. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury.

Hi, My name is Chance Leandro. I'm 10-years old and I'm going to run my first half marathon on October 22, 2017 to raise money to help people get access to clean water.

I decided to run a half marathon after volunteering with my track group at a marathon aid/cheer station. I asked my mom if she would run it with me and she said she would love to. We signed up for the Ventura Marathon that night.

A couple weeks into our training, I watched a YouTube video by a man named Scott Harrison and the story of how his organization Charity:Water came to be.

I learned that every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. I also learned that it doesn’t have to be that way. That there are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world. I wanted to help.

So I started this fundraising campaign for my half-marathon to help Charity: Water build these types of projects around the world, and now I'm asking for your help.

I hope you can take a moment to learn about Charity:Water and make a donation to my campaign so that clean, safe water is accessible to 100 kids that don't have it now. My goal of $3,000 will bring clean, safe water to 100 kids, forever.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re done, Charity: Water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
