Hey guys, I'm turning 20 next month and instead of frittering it away on pigging out and gifts for myself, I want to do something different. Most of us probably grew up never worrying about where to get fresh water because all we had to do was turn on the tap. Heck, I didn't even like drinking water and always went for the juices and other beverages instead. I, like most of you took clean fresh water for granted. But I found out that there are 800 million people around the world without access to simply clean water. That's 1 in 9 people. They didn't choose to be born into a place without fresh water nor did you choose to be born into a place that did. You can probably think of them as unlucky. But imagine a situation in your life when you were unlucky. It happens...and when it does, wouldn't it be nice if there was someone that can help you out of the situation? I don't want to ramble on about how crappy their lives are without fresh water but the important thing is that it is... they need people like us to help them out of their situation so that children don't have to walk miles to get dirty water just to get diseases from it. With clean water close-by, they can use the time to get an education, to gather food, better their lives or whatever... But it all starts with clean fresh water and that's what Charity water is all about. Charity water helps make freshwater wells, rainwater catchments and sand filters with your donations. They fund their operating costs separately through a group of private donors, so 100% of all public donations will go directly to people in need. You might like me or you might even hate me.
