On September 30, I'm turning 27. And this year, I will be sharing my birthday with charity: water for the third time to help bring clean and safe drinking water to those who don't have access to it.

First year we raised $1553 for Kerni Edaga Village in Ethiopia, serving 300 people (http://mycharitywater.org/p/myprojects?member_id=4249).

Second year we raised a whopping $3052 towards a drilling rig called 'Yellow Thunder' which can drill 80 wells and give 40,000 people clean water per year (http://www.mycharitywater.org/p/campaign?campaign_id=19011).

This year, the focus is in Rwanda. Women and children in Rwanda walk for HOURS every single day, up and down mountains, just to collect DIRTY water from rivers. They drink it, wash dishes with it, cook dinner with it, and bathe with it. Millions contract deadly diseases from contaminated water, but this is all they have. Clean and safe drinking water...something we take for granted everyday.

So I'm asking everyone for my age in donations. No birthday gifts, just $27 or more from everyone I know (or even don't know! Please help me spread the word! :D ) and help give life's most basic need.

The best part is that 100% of the money raised will directly fund water projects in Rwanda, and when those projects are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made.

We wouldn't drink contaminated water, so why should they?
