I'm a mid-twenties white male living in the US with few real problems in life. I have it pretty good. I own plenty of stuff and, instead of just amassing more, I'd like to take a shot at doing a little collective good this year. I know it's nice to surprise someone with a gift, and those of you that would rather buy me something (or nothing) are welcome to do so, but meeting my donation goal will seriously be the best gift for my birthday. Seriously. I'll be overjoyed.
Update 12/21/2012: This is crazy. I wasn't sure that the initial goal of $500 would be met, and now look at us. Well over $1000 has been donated. Everyone has been so generous. Thanks you all so much!
