As you all may know, my brother Anthony and I shared our birthdays for our whole lives, being born only two years and two weeks apart. Every year, the month of September is hard to get through, as I remember him and reminisce on our childhood.

As our birthdays are approaching, I wanted to do something that would honor Anthony, but also help others who are in need.

A few days ago, I was fortunate to hear the Founder of Charity: Water, Scott Harrison, speak. His story resonated with me, and I was instantly interested in getting involved. He explained that in lieu of birthday gifts, people started donating their birthdays to Charity: Water. So, this year I wanted to donate both of our birthdays (his 9/16 and mine 9/30) to help people get access to clean water.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

Please consider donating to this cause in the denomination of $16 or $30 in honor of our birthdays (any amount helps!) to help me reach my goal of raising $1,000 which will help 33 people get access to clean water.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
