There's nothing like the feeling of walking inside on a scorching hot summer day and walking over to the office water cooler and getting yourself some water. It's a great feeling. But not everyone in the world knows that what's like.

Many people around the world don’t have of simply having normal drinking water. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. And it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

A quick story (stay with me here): In the Bible, when the Israelites are wandering in the desert, they had water supplied to them for 40 years through miraculous wellsprings. However, in the 40th year of their journey, the water source stopped once Moses' sister Miriam died. After the Israelites complained to Moses about not having water, God told Moses to talk to a rock, which would then gush water, and give the people water to drink. Moses ended up getting upset with the people, scolding them, and then striking the rock with his staff. The rock produced water, but Moses was punished for not listening to God's instructions.

In that vein, I have started my campaign of #TalkToARock to help bring awareness to those who don't have access to drinking water.

In addition to donating, I ask that you please upload a photo or video of yourself talking to a rock (be as creative as you like), no matter how stupid you may think you look doing it. You're making a difference. I know it may seem silly, but it seemed silly to dump a bucket of ice water on our heads to help ALS a few years ago, and look how much good that did.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
