While moving once a year for the past 6 years, I've come to realize just how much "stuff" I can accumulate and how little this "stuff" actually gets utilized.
Sure, it's fun to have new things and treating oneself isn't inherently bad, and of course, some things are necessary to have around. However, in preparing for my next move, which is soon after my birthday, I'm realizing that I have what I need (and even more than, according to the boxes of donated items I've given away).
This year, instead of asking for material items to add in to my collection of "stuff," I'm asking for you to join me in taking a small part in providing a few people access to clean water.
Clean water, such a simple resource for a society like ours, is such an invaluable need for others around the world.
Help celebrate me through celebrating access to clean water!
Happy Birthday!!
Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
100% of the money raised through this campaign will be used to build clean water projects through charity: water.
(And, when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped!)
Elizabeth has partially funded 1 project.
