Here in America, a developed country, most of us have no idea of the hardships that come from a lack of available, safe drinking water. At just the press of a button or a pull of a handle, we can get as much water as we want and need! But a much larger percentage of the globe does not share this privileged luxury.

Every day, around 1,400 children die from diseases caused by dirty, unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation. And yet - it doesn't have to be this way. Simple solutions such as drilled wells, natural water purifiers, and biosand water filters could save these millions of kids struggling from unhealthy water and sanitation. However, these people do not have the knowledge or access to this life-changing equipment - and that's what we are aiming to change.

We, middle-schoolers of Brown Middle School, have decided to volunteer our time to help clean up our city, in hopes of raising money to donate to Charity Water. More specifically, we will be ridding nearby ponds of invasive plants and will be cleaning up our local greenways as an extension of the community volunteering program, Newton Serves. We hope that you look at our endeavors and decide that you, too, want to make a difference in the world surrounding us.

We have started this fundraising campaign to help Charity Water build these types of projects around the world, and we're looking for anyone who can help us.

100% of the money donated will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, Charity Water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
