We walk once, so they don't ever have to walk again.

On October 6th at 11:30 A.M., we are walking from the Forum entrance of the MKT trail to Cooper's Landing (11505 Smith Hatchery Road Columbia, MO).

That's 14 miles of simulating what HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of women and children do each and everyday!

Sounds rough, right? Well, imagine doing it without clean water.

Every week, millions of women and their children walk more than 14 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it is the only water they have. They take the chance of contracting deadly diseases with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change this. Girls do not get to go to school. Women end up with deformed spines from carrying heavy loads of water.

No one should be without clean water. So, what can I do?

Our mission is to raise $5000 for water. Why? This is the amount of money that it takes for one village of 250 people to have clean water.

We want every step to matter. We are asking for those who walk to donate at least $20 per person, and if we have 250 people walking, we can achieve our goal! If you cannot walk this year, you can help by donating and/or sharing this link with everyone you know.

Michelle Golden's birthday is October 6th. For her birthday, she asks that you please donate to this campaign instead of giving her gifts. Her birthday wish is to build a well!

The best part: Charity: water is a four-star charity. 100% of everything we raise will go straight to building water projects in the field. Then, when the projects are complete, charity: water will show us just where they are and who they're helping (with GPS coordinates, photos and other details). We'll be able to see the communities we've impacted.

As an added bonus, we will arrive at Cooper's Landing in time for an exciting show by the Moon Belly Dance Studio belly dancers! Even if you do not want to walk, you can help by offering rides back into town after the show. The belly dancers perform between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
