Joel and I are blessed to look around us and know that we have everything we need and then some. We have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

As we were preparing for our wedding on October 7th, it didn't feel right to have a registry where we would ask you to buy us more "stuff" we didn't really need. Instead we wanted to join you, our closest family and friends, in starting our marriage off with a purpose by giving the gift of life and the gift of water to those who desperately need it.

We came across charity:water through one of our favorite bands, Coldplay. And once we saw this video (https://my.charitywater.org/donate/10-year) and learned of this organization's purpose and how 100% of all donations go right to those who need it, we knew we had to do something.

So, please take whatever money you would have spent on wedding gifts for us (and anything else you feel led to give) and please donate it to our campaign for charity:water. And let's make a difference!!

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped. Amazing, right?!?!
