Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. But water is a valuable resource. It goes into our beer, our almond production, our beautiful landscapes - everything that has been near and dear to my heart for the past 27 years! Can you imagine not being able to wash your hands, or not being able to wake up in the middle of the night, thirst as hell, and going to the sink for some water?
Many people around the world don’t have the luxury of EASILY ACCESSIBLE or CLEAN drinking water. Did you know that approximately 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation on the daily? It doesn’t have to be that way!
I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
100% of the money (I repeat, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT) will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
We can make a difference in so many ways. If it's not donating, take a shorter shower, turn off the tap, reuse the water from your pasta to water plants, and just plain-old tread lightly.
I hope you choose to celebrate with me!
Love and miss you, you beautiful sweet angel. Happiest of birthdays and I'm so proud of you for doing such an amazing thing!!!
