Hello!
I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
I am asking you to give $3.80 or $38 by March 30 (payments from anywhere accepted and will be converted to USD). This will contribute to providing clean water in West and Central Africa, Haiti and Central America.
In return, I have been challenged by my wife to recreate the arrival of her ancestors, the first Europeans to arrive in America. Therefore I will be dressing as a Viking Shieldmaiden and rowing down the Hudson river this April if we hit our goal. Photos to come on https://www.instagram.com/foolabouttown/
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
Please donate to my campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
Thank you for all of your kind donations. The campaign has now closed and the money has been sent to the field. I will send an update later this year with details on the project you have funded. It means a lot to me that we smashed through both of our initial targets in the first two weeks and this money is going to a very deserving cause.
In the meantime, I have an obligation to fulfill.... and unfortunately the actual rowing has been postponed as the wee man has been housebound the past few days with a bug. This meant our trip up the Hudson has been postponed a few weeks. So we have had to make do with me parading around our neighborhood this morning dressed as a Shieldmaiden for my birthday to get coffee.
