Every day, 1,400 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses.

This year I turn 21, which as we all know is the year where you can legally drink.
That being said, I'd like to use my birthday to focus on a drinking problem.

The problem?
That nearly 1 billion people live without clean drinking water.

So this year, I don't want your cards or your gifts.
I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know
(or just however much you feel led to give).

Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries.
Charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months).

This means that we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
