My friend Savannah (the cute six-year-old girl in the picture above) gave me the best surprise ever following my first charity: water campaign. Right after she heard about it, she took all the bills out of her piggy bank (she had $67 worth of them!), placed them in an envelope, and asked her mom to send it to me so she could help too. Amazing, isn't she?

What do you think about coming together to help her build a well?

To get things started, I'll donate $10 in recognition of each person who contributed to my first campaign. That's 110 people x $10 = $1,100.

100% of the money we raise will go toward the clean water project we fund, and when the project is complete, charity: water will send Savannah and the rest of us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped. Pretty cool, eh?

It was so refreshing to receive Savannah's note in the mail. She gave up all her savings, which she could have easily used to buy dolls and barbies for herself, to help some of the 800 million people in our world who lack access to clean drinking water. I'm sure she's never gone to bed thirsty, but her empathy allowed her to feel how these people live and moved her to take action.

Such a social conscience at such a young age is something I'll do my best to support, encourage, and share with as many people as possible. Please help me in this quest. :)

Also, please donate -- anything you can give is a huge help! Savannah provided the inspiration, now it's our turn. If we reach $10,000, Savannah's name will be imprinted on the well we fund. I'd like nothing more than to see this happen for her. As for now, thank you so, so much for being a role model to all of us, Savannah!
