Especially in the wake of the string of natural disasters that has been occurring, people are in need of clean water, now more than ever. With greater and easier access to clean water, people can use time which was once used for water for other purposes, such as education, medical care, and, in the case of those displaced by disaster, rebuilding their lives.

Not to mention, clean water means that they won't have to worry about waterborne diseases such as cholera, Hepatitis A, dysentery, salmonella, and many others. Basically, with clean water, people are healthier and live better, more productive lives.

Water changes everything.

This year, for my 23rd birthday, the only thing I am asking for is for you to be a little generous and give what you can. 100% of your money will go to field projects such as wells, BioSand filters, and spring protections. The fine people at charity: water will send pictures and GPS coordinates from the field as the project progresses!

I am also doing something a little different this year than the past couple times I did this. I have always loved water-drinking it, fundraising for it, swimming in it. This year I will be swimming a mile for every $100 raised. My birthday is November 13, but this campaign runs until December 30, so there is plenty of time to donate!

Help me raise $1500, enough to permanently provide clean water for 50 people! I want to swim 15 miles!!!
