I was wondering what I could give my friends as a gift for Christmas this year. And then it hit me. All I need to do is tell them I thought of them and that they are important to me. Instead of giving them something they don't need I can celebrate the fact that I have people around me who inspire me and love me and who I appreciate. So I decided to start a small campaign for you my friends and for the people who really need something. Many people around the world will not have fresh water this Christmas. A small donation to celebrate our friends can help improve this next year!
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

Wow! Thank you guys! I wouldnt have expected to reach the goal within 1 single day. I have raised the goal a tiny bit higher to provide extra motivation for anyone who may still want to help. :-)
