Every day, 5,000 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. I'm gonna help change that!
My birthday is almost here... usually I don't get too excited about birthdays, but this year I'm feeling thankful to have lived another healthy year. I learned through my favorite charity that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.
I'm asking for my age in dollars (24) from my family and friends. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries-- seriously. After my birthday, charity: water shows us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed. That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
