I was appalled to learn that the most simple and basic drink available (water) is an absolute struggle for some. Because of this, we decided to use our business skills to help support charity:water. As an accounting organization, at the beginning of the year, taxes make up the bulk of the business, so we have become committed to donating a portion of our tax filing fees to charity:water in an effort to help fund a well.

Millions of people walk miles every day just to get water. The children skip primary school to lug 40-pound Jerry Cans on their backs. Families try to nurse one another back to health after waterborne illnesses have infected them.

We want to help them. Our mission is to raise $5,000 in the next three months. We are asking the clients, friends and those associated with Hewitt Business Consultants in some way to donate a day's wage. Join us in our clean water campaign, making a difference one person at a time.

charity: water currently has active field projects in these countries:

HONDURAS, RWANDA, INDIA, BANGLADESH, ETHIOPIA, CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC, KENYA, MALAWI, UGANDA

I think about it like this: if I come in contact with forty people each day from one of the above countries, five do not have access to clean water. Can you imagine five people who are unable to start their day with a cup of coffee, make their baby a clean bottle of formula or simply quench their thirst? Well, I don want to and I have chosen to do something about it.
