22 was a year. If I’m being honest it was one of the toughest years I've experienced so far. There was a lot of change and transition. I graduated from OU, moved to Alabama, visited mom and dad in Germany, started my first job, transitioned to a new position, moved to Atlanta and started a new job. But if I had to sum up 22 I would say it was the year of receiving. I received jobs, places to live for FREE, grace (SO MUCH GRACE), incredible friendships and more life lessons than I could count.

I've been looking forward to 23 for a while. It's the golden year for one thing. Turning 23 on the 23rd is pretty cool. It's also my Michael Jordan year. I've loved Michael Jordan ever since I was a kid. The thing about MJ is that he gave so much to the game of basketball. So, I want to follow in his gigantic footsteps and give my 23rd birthday away.

I found out about chairty:water 4 years ago when a friend of mine gave away her birthday. I loved the concept, gave $5 and never thought about it again. Then 2 years ago I listened a podcast with the founder of the company and was blown away by the intention of this man to give the whole world clean water. I'm going to throw the link down here so you can listen to it. The thing about Scott Harrison is that by the end of the podcast you will totally believe that the whole world can have access to clean water.

I usually make a list of things I want to do before next birthday. But this year there’s no list. 23 will be the year of giving. And I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off this new year of life. The best gift I could ever get is the opportunity to give to someone else.
